A 34-year-old man has been taken into custody this morning, after the ‘significant incident’ that left an elderly man fighting for life on the side of the road at Nobby Beach.
Forensic police have been investigating the incident from overnight after the man was found unconscious in the grass next to the Gold Coast Highway by a member of the public around 3.30 am.
The man is understood to have suffered serious head, leg and pelvis injuries, and is now in critical condition at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
