Simone Patterson's sanctuary for women escaping domestic violence is home to alpacas, goats, exotic birds and an overweight sheep called Dolly.
The reason is pretty simple.
"Animals will love you unconditionally, animals will help someone through their darkest days," Ms Patterson said.
