Tourism voucher giveaway to help boost Gold Coast recovery from storm damage

Storm-ravaged tourism businesses on the Gold Coast will receive a further $2.5 million in support funding from the Queensland government. Deadly storms battered south-east Queensland on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, claiming seven lives and leaving tens of thousands of homes and businesses without power. Tourism attractions across the region were heavily impacted, with some still closed due to the storm damage. Premier Steven Miles has announced today that 50,000 vouchers, each worth $50, would go on offer via a website to stimulate the Gold Coast's tourism economy.
